סטיבן ד’ פראד

סטיבן ד’ פראד הוא פרופסור להיסטוריה של היהדות במחלקה למדע הדתות ובתכנית ללימודי יהדות באוניברסיטת יֵל בארצות הברית.
בשנת 1980 קיבל תואר דוקטור בלימודים בתר־מקראיים מאוניברסיטת פנסילבניה. לסגל האקדמי של אוניברסיטת יל הצטרף בשנת 1979, ובשנת 1989 מונה לפרופסור מן המניין. פרופ’ פראד עמד שם בראש המחלקה למדע הדתות ובראש התכנית ללימודי יהדות.
פראד זכה במלגות ובפרסים רבים. בין היתר היה עמית “מורס” (Morse) באוניברסיטת יל, עמית קרן הזיכרון ע”ש סיימון גוגנהיים ועמית במכון ללימודים מתקדמים באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. הוא קיבל מענקי מחקר מקרנות רבות, ובהן קרן הזיכרון לתרבות יהודית והחברה הפילוסופית האמריקנית. בשנת 1992 זכה בפרס הספר היהודי הלאומי על ספרו “From Tradition to Commentary“, ובשנת 2011 נבחר לאקדמיה האמריקנית למדעי היהדות.
פרופ’ פראד חבר בוועדות פרסומים, ובהן ה־Yale Judaica Series ו־Yale University Press. הוא אף חבר מערכת בכמה כתבי עת, ובהם Journal of Biblical Literature ו־ Religious Compass.
