שמואל בולוצקי

  • נבחר לחבר כבוד בשנת תשפ”א

פרופ’ שמואל בולוצקי נולד בתל אביב בשנת תש”ג (1943).

את עבודת הדוקטור שלו בבלשנות הגיש בשנת 1972 לאוניברסיטת אילינוי בארצות הברית. עד פרישתו היה פרופסור באוניברסיטת מסצ’וסטס אמהרסט בארצות הברית, ובה לימד בחוג ללימודי יהדות והמזרח התיכון, ואף כיהן בו כראש החוג וריכז בו את לימודי העברית. בעבר היה חבר סגל בחוג לבלשנות באוניברסיטת תל אביב, לימד מדי פעם כפרופסור אורח באוניברסיטת בן־גוריון בנגב ובאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. פרופ’ בולוצקי היה נשיא ארגון הפרופסורים לעברית בארצות הברית, ושנים רבות הוא חבר בוועד המארגן של הכנסים השנתיים של הארגון. בשנת 2002 יזם והקים סדנה פדגוגית שנתית למורים לעברית בארצות הברית. הוא שימש ומשמש חבר במערכות של כתבי עת ופרסומים אחרים העוסקים בלשון העברית ובלימודי יהדות.

תחומי מחקריו הם פונולוגיה ומורפולוגיה בכלל ופונולוגיה ומורפולוגיה של העברית החדשה בפרט, מילונאות עברית, יישום מתודולוגיה בלשנית בהוראת העברית כשפה זרה, ובניית מאגרי נתונים לשוניים ושימוש בהם במחקר בלשני.
